What’s Going on In Myrtle Beach this August



Although the summer months may be dwindling, there’s still plenty to do at the beach thanks to the lovely Southern weather. Whether you’re a local or looking to plan a last-minute beach vacation, there’s a little something for all ages and tastes happening this August. Take a look at our roundup of events happening around the Myrtle Beach area: 

August 2-4: Craftsmen’s Classics Summer Art & Craft Festival: For the 37th year, the Myrtle Beach Craftsmen’s Art & Craft Festival will feature work from talented artists across the United States. You can see the creative process in action as many artists will be demonstrating their talent throughout the weekend. With a diverse style and budget range, this festival is sure to appeal to everyone. August 3: Cassadee Pope will be performing live at the Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place at 7pm. As rising star country musician, Cassedee Pope is sure to put on a stellar performance. You may recall she is the first female musician to take the winning spot on The Voice. The best part? General Admission is completely free and VIP passes are only $25, which includes 2 drink tickets, access to the private VIP lounge and private premium viewing area.

On-going – August 10th: The Brookgreen Summer Music Festival takes place under the oaks at Azalea Concert Field at Brookgreen Gardens Summer Music Festival on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Bring your own chair and enjoy free live music at Murrells Inlet with Garden Admission.

On-going – August 31st: If you haven’t already, spend a summer night soaking up live entertainment at SummerFest! This event is held nightly at 7pm and includes comedy acts, live music, dance parties, and more in a family-friendly environment. If nothing else, this free event is worth a laugh with your family or friends!

August 16: Broadway at the Beach: This is the LAST summer night to enjoy fireworks over the beach so don’t miss out! The fireworks will begin at 10pm and is free to the public. Make sure to catch the last big bang of the summer this August 16th!

August 24: Temptations & Four Tops: Take a trip down memory lane on Saturday with live Motown music at the Alabama Theatre. Otis Williams, an original member from Temptations and Duke Fakir, an original member from Four Tops will set the party off! You can purchase tickets to this event here

August 25: Tribute to Bruce Springsteen: Buy a ticket at the Carolina Opry Theatre for a night full of nostalgic Bruce Springsteen tunes. Enjoy throwback songs with a highly energetic crowd that’s sure to put you in the right spirit. Tickets to this event can be purchased at the Carolina Opry Theatre’s website. 

August 26-30: World Amateur Golf Tournament: Watch over 3,000 amateur golfers from around the world come together to compete in the annual golf tournament at Myrtle Beach. Whether you’re a golf fanatic or just interested in watching a good sports game while soaking up some extra rays, the athletes would love to see you there!
