Surfside Beach does have strict policies when it comes to dogs on the beach during peak months, however. This is not only for the protection of all visitors, but also for the protection of your beloved fur kids. The sand is hot and the summer sun is powerful, making it a tough environment for canines. Here’s the scoop on year-round dog rules so you can plan your vacation accordingly:May 15 – September 15Dogs or other domestic pets are not permitted on the public beach.September 16 – May 14Leashed dogs are allowed on the beach.So if you’re looking for the perfect getaway for your family and looking for dog-friendly rentals in Surfside Beach, try looking for fall, winter or early spring dates so that your pup can enjoy the beach as well. And don’t forget that your pet must be up-to-date on all vaccinations (always a good idea before you travel anywhere) and owners are always responsible for picking up after dogs. Horses and other large animals are not allowed on the beach at any time during the year.
